SOUTH LAKE TAHOE AND LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK

South Lake Tahoe, CA

South Lake Tahoe we love you! Daniel and I even considered moving here after our visit. The population and surrounding areas are a little too small for us, but the photography business for weddings is strong. After camping for one week we were ready for a fresh hot shower and a real bed! We stayed at a gentleman's house that we found on airbnb.com. At first we were nervous about staying with a random stranger and his guests, but we ended up making some great memories and friends! I didn't take my camera out much because I also wanted to enjoy my time and not only view it through a lens. Here are some pictures Daniel and I took at a dog park found off the shore of Lake Tahoe. We spent much of our day here :)

Lassen Volcanic National Park

Daniel and I camped at Lassen Volcanic National Park for one night. I was glad it was one night because with our dogs we were not able to do much and compared to the other places we had been this one was mediocre. We walked to a lake nearby and it was partially dried up, the drought was very apparent in this park of California. The volcanic ash was the "sand" at this lake. It was pure mush when wet and our dogs sank as they walked in it, pretty hilarious. We did get to hike through a cold, dark lava tube...so freakin' neat. It was 40 degrees in the lava tube and 85 degrees above it. Peace out Lassen Volcanic we may or may not be back!
